how to reset the SPH-i500 factory default settings
----
Two types of resets can be performed on the SPH-i500, a soft reset
and a hard reset.
A soft reset is similar to rebooting a PC; no personal data
is lost. A hard reset is more complete. It will result in
complete loss of personal data and restore
the phone to factory default status.
Samsung is not responsible for data loss incurred from
a hard reset on the device.
To perform either a soft or hard reset follow the corresponding
steps below:
Soft Reset
Use the stylus briefly to press the reset button on the i500 located on the
bottom of the phone, next to the power/accessory interface connector.
Hard Reset
- Press and hold the Handheld Power button located on the side of the
phone, then use the stylus reset tool (unscrew the stylus to access the
reset tool) to press the reset button. - Remove the stylus reset tool from the rest hole and wait for the Palm
Screen to display, then release the handheld power button. An Erase all
data screen is displayed confirming the hard reset. - Press the up scroll key on the front of the phone to perform the hard
reset.
