The Samsung Moment is the first Android device from Samsung, and it is exclusive to Sprint.

It has some pretty impressive specifications, such as an 800 MHz processor and a simply stunning 3.2-inch AM-OLED display, along with the usual suspects like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi b/g wireless networking.

It launched this week for $180 after $50 instant savings and a $100 mail-in rebate.

Reviews are up at:

  • Engadget -”Thing is, the Moment still feels like a first-generation device — and for a platform that launched commercially a solid year ago, that’s not really acceptable.”
  • Gizmodo – “It’s massive, has theoretically superior firepower, and runs marginally faster than the Android competition. But in the end, it’s clearly stuck in the past.”
  • PC World – “The Moment impresses with a vivid AMOLED display and a roomy QWERTY keyboard, but the software is quirky and the touchscreen can be slow.”
  • SlashGear – “While its AMOLED display is bright and clear and its keyboard pleasantly expansive, its stock Android 1.5 OS pales in comparison to what other manufacturers are doing to distinguish their rival handsets.
  • InfoSync – “The Samsung Moment is a solid piece of Android hardware with some specs that put it at the top of the pack.”
  • MobileBurn – “With a Sprint contract price only $20 less than the HTC Hero, somebody is going to really, really need a hardware keyboard to choose the Moment over the Hero.”
  • CNET – “With its full keyboard and bright display, the Samsung Moment successfully rounds out Sprint’s Android offerings.”
  • Phone Scoop – “The Samsung Moment feels like it is Samsung’s first Android phone. Samsung took the stock Android operating system and matched it with a form factor that Samsung knows is popular with messaging fanatics — and then didn’t do anything else with it.”

Sprint HTC Hero Reviews: Media Reviews and User Reviews

Lag or Not, the HTC hero performance, let us check what other media reviews:

CrunchGear, “The Hero is Android perfected and it is an excellent phone. I would recommend it over the Palm Pre and, dare I say it, something like the iPhone 3G. $180 isn’t too much to pay for the best Android phone on the market.”

Cnet, “While it could use a boost in the performance department, the HTC Hero is the most feature-packed Google Android device to date, bringing some notable improvements and a highly customizable interface”

MobileTechReview, “It’s hard not to love a Hero, the HTC Hero on Sprint in this case. It’s replete with features and those features work well. HTC’s customized Android is a joy to use: it’s fun, it’s efficient, full-featured and highly customizable. The phone is responsive (though it needs a reboot every 3 days or so to keep things moving quickly) and it has one of the best web browsers on a smartphone. The capacitive 3.2″ display is sharp and we love the multi-touch feature when zooming in on web pages. Though it lacks the serious business clout of the HTC Touch Pro2 with its full MS Exchange support, very complete Outlook syncing and an Office suite that both reads and writes MS Office files, the Hero should do for those who don’t need Windows in their pocket. Well done, Google, HTC and Sprint.”

Gizmodo, “The princess might not kiss this Hero because it’s kinda ugly, but at least it’ll actually get the job done now. If you’ve been waiting for an Android phone not on T-Mobile, or one that’s finally just about ready for primetime, this is it.”

Engadget, “Here is what we can say about the phone: the industrial design of this version versus the older model is a marked improvement, chucking that awkward chin shape for a proper bottom half, and rearranging the hard buttons so that you’re not constantly getting your hands cramped up. We also have to mention the trackball, which is the most comfortable we’ve ever used. While the performance is still not where we think it should be, the Hero is an awesome addition to Sprint’s growing line of serious contenders in the smartphone game. If that new update is all it’s supposed to be (and if Sprint is expedient in bringing it to market), many of our complaints should be quelled — and this will be the killer device we know it can be.”

Samsung Reclaim Eco reviews

Samsung unveiled the Samsung Reclaim eco friendly smartphone in early August. Our review partner Digital Trends tested the green phone and published this review. Quote from the review: “Green, or eco-friendly, cellular phones have been around for at least a year, but most of them use 2004-era technology. The Samsung Reclaim is a true smartphone for the green arena though, essentially acting as a low-grade Propel Pro – and, considering its eco-friendliness, doing a surprisingly decent job. Read on to find out more about its nature-friendly features.” Samsung Cell Phone reviews Highs: Environmentally friendly; good 2.0 MP camera; a solid all-around performer Lows: Limited multimedia interface; tiny keys; doesn’t excel in any particular areas Samsung Reclaim Phone Pictures – Samsung Cell Phone photos
